What sign-off looks like on site

Why this is the one that pays
A variation agreed by talking is a variation you will argue about later, and usually lose. The message the foreman already sends becomes the record — the day it happens, not the week the job finishes.

What happens without anyone doing it
Marden Electrical's PL expires in 11 days. First chase went 30 days out, second goes Friday, and they come off the allocation board automatically if it lapses — rather than being turned away at the gate on Monday morning.
